Message from the Director

Connecting research efforts between Asia and Europe and the US

Affiliated with the School of Letters at the University of Kyoto, The Center for Applied Philosophy and Ethics (CAPE) was founded in April 2012. We will be carrying out various research and educational initiatives related to the field of applied philosophy.

Through these initiatives, we will achieve the following goals:

  • (1) To organize and systematize professional ethics education for the Graduate school as well as sophisticated liberal arts education initiatives
  • (2) To create a large-scale research base for professional ethics and applied philosophy in Japan
  • (3) To function as a hub that connects Asia with Europe and the US

our support and co-operation is greatly appreciated.
